Importing and Exporting Chart of Accounts

Importing Chart of Accounts


There are 2 ways to import an account/s to Chart of Accounts in AccountingSuite™. From the Client List and from a CSV File.

Importing from Client List


Importing from Client List is when you want to copy a Chart of Accounts from a different Client of you have more than one account with AccountingSuite™.

To import account/s from existing AccountingSuite™ company,
  1. Go to AccountingCharts of Account.
  2. Click the Import Chart of Accounts button.
  3. Select From Client List.
  4. Select the client/company where the Chart of Accounts will be coming from → Click Next button.
  5. Then select the account/s that your want to import → Click Next button.


Importing from Client List

Importing from CSV File


This is when you want to import your own Chart of Accounts from a CSV File.

To import account/s from a CSV file,

  1. Go to Accounting → Chart of Account.
  2. Click the Import Chart of Accounts button.
  3. Select From CSV File, then Field Mapping (Chart of Accounts) window will show up.
  4. Click Choose File for Import button → then choose the CSV file that you want to import.
  5. A new window will show which is the CSV preview and mapping. On this part, you can map or associate columns to its corresponding field (Code, Account Name, Account Type, Etc.) → Once done, click Save and Close.
  6. Click Prepare Data button → Select the account/s that you want to import from the CSV File.
  7. Click Check Data button, then a window will show the data checking status → Click Back to Data Preview button to proceed,
  8. Then click Import Data button to continue importing. A new window will show the status your data import.
  9. Click You can check the results here button to go back to Charts of Accounts to see the results.


Importing from CSV File


Exporting Chart of Accounts List


To export your Chart of Account list,

1. Go to AccountingChart of Account.
2. Click Export List → Select columns that you want to export → Click OK.
3. A Charts of Account preview will show on the screen → Then click Save As button.
4. Select file type → Click OK.
